Summer Hiatus, Long Book, and Recommendations

We both have busy summers ahead of us, and most people seem to be busy or out of town for most of the summer, so we've decided to put the club on hiatus until September. 

However, we thought it might be fun to read a long book over the summer to discuss at our first meeting in the fall, so if you have a suggestion for a long book email it to us by Friday. 

Also, if you read any books you think others might enjoy send us an email with the title and a brief paragraph describing what makes the book so good and we'll post it on the blog for the benefit of all the Bookworms!

Fun in the Sun

Since the weather is so lovely, and an outside setting seems fitting for such a garden-centric book, let's convene on the lawn in front of Tabaret Hall for our meeting this Sunday.  You may want to bring along a blanket or just rough it on the grass.  In case of rain, we'll be meeting in UCU 206, but let's keep or fingers crossed for a sunny Sunday!

Next Meeting Date

The Forgotten Garden

The winner of the poll was The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton.  At 552 pages, this is a pretty hefty book, so in consideration of that, and the fact that we've all got exams and final papers to worry about this month, our next meeting will be towards the end of May.  Take a moment to vote in the poll box for when it should be, specifically.  The poll will close Thursday at midnight.

Historical Fiction!
